Explore Central Oregon
A reason to visit in every season.
From walkable downtown mornings to alpine afternoons, summer floats on the Deschutes to first tracks at Mt. Bachelor — Bend rewards you whatever month you land. Cities and outdoors, summer and winter, golden fall and bright spring. There's always somewhere to be and something to do.
Winter
First chair, fresh tracks.
Mt. Bachelor opens in November and runs deep into May. Cross-country trails string the Cascades together, sunrise turns the volcano pink, and downtown patios warm up under string lights and outdoor heaters.

Spring
Trails open, rivers run.
Snowmelt feeds Tumalo Falls. The high desert greens up at Smith Rock. Horses graze in front of the Three Sisters. The mountain biking gets very good, very fast.

Summer
Float the river, stay for the show.
Tubes on the Deschutes, paddleboards on Sparks Lake, alpine swims in the High Cascades, riverside dinners at the Old Mill, and big nights at Hayden Homes Amphitheater. The golden hour stretches forever.

Fall
Golden aspens, empty trails.
The aspens light up the canyons. Smith Rock turns rust and gold. Tasting rooms pour the new vintage, the wine bars get cozy, and the crowds thin out — quite possibly Bend's most beautiful season.

Bend at the table
After the trail, a long table.
Tacos and a cold beer when you climb out of the river. Wine flights as the sky turns pink. Food-truck lots strung with lights and packed with families. Late nights in downtown wine bars. The reward for a day outside is always waiting.
